Warren G Harding the Worst President

Page history last edited by ThomasP 2 years, 9 months ago

Warren G. Harding was and is still considered the worst U.S. President.  He was the 29th President, and was President from 1921-1923.  Warren G. Harding harding is a great example of decedence, moral decay, loss of innocence, hedonism and lawlessness during the 1920's

  • Warren G. Harding was elected President in 1921 until 1923 when he met an untimely death due to a heart attack when he went to San Francisco with his secretary of state.

  • He was a conservative and won the election against James M. Cox by a landslide.

  • Warren G. Harding had very few enemies because he rarely took a firm side on any issue.

Warren G. Harding was a symbol of decedence, moral decay, loss of innocence, hedonism and lawlessness during the 1920's because of his incapability to be the U.S. president.  While in office Harding usually went out and golfed, gambled and busied himself with his mistress.  While in office Harding knowingly let his friends, administrators(secretary of state, secretary of the interior) and cronies plundered the U.S. treasury for a great sum of money which he lent his secretary of the interior/ his friend Mr. Albert B. Fall use to pay oilmen to tap into the government oil reserve.  Leading in the great Teapot Dome Scandal.

Harding died during his 3rd year as President when him and his Secretary of State went to San Francisco on "vacation" to get away due to a heart attack.  Ending the horrible reign of the gambling, stealing, drinking 29th President of the U.S.  Harding was buried in Hillside Cemetary in his home town.

Warren G. Harding Will always be remembered for being the President but also the worst.  He was irresponsible in his duties and he stole from the U.S. many people thinks he got what he deserved by his unexpected death.  Harding warned his fellow towns people not to put him in the ballat for president but no one licensed to him.  Harding was correct if he didn't wasnt a candidate this whole problem in the 1920's could of been avoided and the 1920's could of been a time and place of the American Dream.  But by having Harding as President the 1920's burned and crashed.

Thats why our 29th President Mr. Warren G. Harding is the U.S.'s worst President but also a symbol showing that the 1920's was a time of decedence, moral decay, loss of innocence, hedonism and lawlessness during the 1920's.
